Living the Adventuress Life: Healing Hikes, buying airline tickets & retiring abroad.
February 25, 2016
Dear VIA (Very Important Adventuress)

Welcome to another edition of Living the Adventuress Life, the e-zine from

In this issue, we want to tell you about some amazing Healing Hikes in Colorado, the best time to buy airlines tickets, and share some info about retiring abroad.

True Tales

Former teacher, design writer and wife Donna Bessinger is currently working on her new project “New World Woman Journeys”, focussing on women reinventing their lives.

We are proud to have recently published her feature article, The 3 Best Healing Hiking Trails Near Denver, Colorado.

Donna writes, “The beauty of living in Colorado near mountains and hiking trails is the welcoming presence of nature at any time. It offers no judgment and soothes with its quiet, its cool dry breezes and sheltering trees.”

When is the best time to buy airline tickets?

Nothing in the world can be as fickle as prices for airline tickets. A ticket that seems fair one day will jump $200 the next day, before dropping $250 the day after. Those that would generally cost a few hundred make death-defying jumps at certain times of the year.

But there are ways to navigate these tricky waters and find the best price.

How to Simply and Successfully Retire Abroad

In 2012, after losing a job I loved and coming face-to-face with age discrimination in the US, I decided it was time to move to another country where I could live comfortably on just my social security.

Another plus was that I could devote 100% of my time to creative endeavors and fun things like Adventuress Travel Magazine.

I could not have made the transition so easily without the information I learned from reading International Living magazine.

Now I’m thrilled to announce that is affiliated with International Living.

Travel Quote of the month

In this time of curious and questionable political activities in the US, we’d like to leave you with the words of one of America’s favorite humorists:

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain

Have you had a memorable adventure you’d like to share?

We welcome your travel stories from home and around the world.

You don’t have to be a "professional writer" to submit a story. A breezy, letter-home-to-your-best-friend approach suits us just fine, with a few facts thrown in, of course.

We like your personal observations, how you felt about the place, what you ate, your most embarrassing moment, etc. CLICK HERE to learn more about the perfect length of your essay, and how to submit photos along with it.
