No need to travel to exotic locales to create a travel art journal. Sometimes the most fun is sketching in your friend's kitchen, at a local week-end festival, or in a neighborhood antique store.

Couldn't take a cruise "north to Alaska" without sketching along the way. This totem pole lives in Ketchikan.
Once a year in SeaTac, Washington, is the Angle Lake Festival. Since my childhood friend, whom I try to visit once a year, lives on Angle Lake, this was a must-do!
Sometimes signs are fun to copy. This one, with it's ornate decoration, was on the wall next to the entrance to El Palacio Real in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
